Welcome

Serving the growing Jewish population on the Delmarva Peninsula , Temple Bat Yam is a Reform Jewish congregation committed to the ideals and eternal truths of Judaism and to maintaining the traditions and lessons of our rich heritage while respecting the realities and integrity of interfaith marriages and interfaith families. It is our stated desire to invite and encourage participation by all family members and spouses in our congregational life, despite religious diversity within a household. We believe the spiritual interests of both our congregation and those of our interfaith couples and families are better served by inclusion within the nurturing community of Temple Bat Yam.

Worship
Join Rabbi Susan Warshaw and the congregation for Shabbat services every Friday at 8:00pm and Saturdays at 9:30am. Family services are held once a month at 7:00pm during the school year. Saturday services are followed by Torah study and discussion.

Using a special service prepared by the Rabbi and Sisterhood, members conduct one or two services a year. With beautiful music for the ocassion and a special Oneg, their efforts are well received by the congregation.

Our Role in the Community

Temple Bat Yam practices our Jewish tradition of Tzedakah. Read on for information about some of our current projects.

Here: TBY religious school students cuddle with some of the more than 400 Teddy bears collected for Coastal Hospice during the Temple's Annual Mitzvah Day activities. The bears were delivered to help comfort terminally ill patients.

TBY continues its annual drive for Coastal Hospice. From the beginning of January through the first week of April members may donate NEW, huggable size Teddy bears for hospice.
Operation Paperback (operationpaperback.org) is a non-profit, grassroots program founded in 1999 as one way of showing our appreciation for the sacrifices our military men and women make every day - often far from home.
We are collecting food for the Shepherd's Crook at St. Paul-by-the Sea. This is a year round Mitzvah .

Fellowship

Temple Bat Yam is a busy place! Our Sisterhood, Social Activites, Social Action, Fundraising, Membershp and Ritual Committees schedule many religious and nonreligious events throughout the year.

Enhancing the beautiful music at our September 26 service, the Echo Choir, under the direction of Evonne Lee, sang three beautiful hymns, including Glory to God by Handel and Open My Eyes, I Pray, from Psalm 119.
